In Canada that $79.99USD = $120CDN. The collector’s will be about $40CDN over the reg. Ed. That’s a lot of loonies. So I said to myself, “Self, You Ain’t Gitin No Collector’s Edition”. Then I started thinking about how long I played D2… for three? four? years and we all know how much D2 bite’s, now that Blizzard has let spambots / hacks / dupes run rampant. What do I LOVE MOST about A.N.? They came from Blizzard… so they know what NOT TO DO.

Ok, so what if I only played GW for one year. Let’s say… I got in an accident and became quadriplegic… that’s more plausible then me losing interest in the game. So if I spread out that extra $40 cost of the collector’s over a year... then its $3 a month is no problem. So that’s one way to justified the cost.

What do I want and/or need from the Collector’s Edition? Well I’m not fan of listening to (even fantastic) game sound tracks outside of the game. Pretty picture book, nope don’t need that either. Three month free Teamspeak… I think there are a few free voice programs. Headset? Admittedly, Logitech is a good company…but personally, if I were to use a headset, I would rather pay more and get an extremely comfortable (going to be wearing it for hours at a time) noise-cancellation headset. So what left? Just the pretty shininess…

Ok. So what is the perddy shininess? It’s not extra armour protection or extra damage. It’s not more life. It’s not more energy. Basically, an ego stoker? Or a nyah nyah nayh, “I'm glowing and you ain’t”? Well I imagine there will only be a certain number of Collector’s Editions, or only a certain number of people who will pay the extra bucks for it. So there will some notoriety if you’re glowing. Heh, I supposed there could even be Elitism too. “If you ain’t glowing, you ain’t going… into this Guild”. Ok. That’s all fine and well for NOW.

But think about this… in one year, two years… when all other mmorpgs are deserted and the only one left is GW. That Divine Aura will denote an OG player…So come Thursday, April 28, 2005 wadda ima do? Pop down that extra $40 for my Perddy Badge Of OG Shininess. That’s what. (and spring for a better headset later).

Just for sh*ts and giggles, let me add this. My video card is an ATI7000 64Mb, like 2.5 years old. I don’t know how I am even able to run the game so smoothly, considering the minimum requirement is an ATI8500 (with an ATI9000 being recommended) but I can. My card has no Transform & Lighting (T&L) capabilities. I DON’T see bosses GLOW. I WON'T see PLAYERS GLOW… hell I WON”T EVEN SEE MYSELF GLOW. Lmao.

QUESTION: “Characters who equip the item are surrounded by a unique aura determined by the god who has bestowed it, and the item itself has a shape and color distinctive to that specific god.” Do you only glow when the thing-a-ma-jig is equipped?

Well I was giving the link to give more information. And many people said the release date was late 2004. ArenaNet said that too.

I'm sure you're going to be able to earn the aura in the game.

the aura is a bonus for paying the higher price for the CE and giving everybody that glow would defeat that purpose

as Gaile herself said

It's ok, Nascent, we'll still like you, even if you are aura-less. There will be no class distinctions in Tyria!

The collectors edition info on GW.com says that the Divine Aura is a unique item. Just like the preorder items.

I know it says its a unique item ... i was just wondering if there would be others like it available to people who do not buy the CE.

You simply use the CE Retail Key on the account that had the Preorder Key and you will receive both item and aura.I think the SPR of the headphones is somewhere over $20. They're not chessy, I promise.*copies post for office window* *sniff* You've warmed my heart.
Thank you for your response. I am pleased that I will retain my special item.

I also want to take a moment to personally thank you for the years of enjoyment playing the games you contributed to. During good times and bad, stress and comfort, I always enjoyed logging in and bashing the minions of hell. I look forward to more years of the same with GW.
